The team at Molsom & Associates win Customer Care category at the South Holland Business Awards 2019
After winning Small Business of the year at the awards last year, we were thrilled to learn we had been short listed in the categories of Business Innovation and Customer Care at the South Holland Business awards 2019. Attending the presentation evening on the 14th November at Springfield’s event centre we eagerly waited for the awards to be announced.
Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce
Simon Beardsley, Chief Executive at Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “I’d like to firstly take this opportunity, on behalf of myself, the Chamber and the judging panel to thank our winners, finalists and all of our applicants for taking the time to put together a submission.
“South Holland is an area full of talent and excellent service and these awards are all about recognising and showcasing this work and we are so proud and honoured to provide a platform for the businesses to shout about their successes. The judging process was particularly difficult this year and we were delighted to award a new edition for this year’s awards, which was the ‘Ones to Watch’ and we are excited to see where those individuals and businesses go in the next 12 months."

We were shortlisted for the business innovation category for the work we offer within the local school community. During these visits we have now introduced interactive workshops. Adding new items to the complimentary gift bags and, of course, our mascot Molsom Mole! He has really engaged young children, hopefully encouraging them to look after their precious sight. Although we did not win this award the team were very happy to receive a Highly Commended award for the work we have put into this area.
Customer Care Category
The big moment came when the winner of the Customer Care award was announced, with Molsom & Associates winning the category.
We have worked on extending many appointment times to 40 minutes, giving our patients the time and care their eyesight deserves. We have also implemented a Platinum Eyecare Plan; providing members with advanced eye examinations whenever they are required. The membership also includes appointments for specialist services provided at the local town centre Opticians, such as red eye and flashes and floaters appointments. But always treating our patients how we would like to be treated. Going above and beyond where we can to ensure each patient feels like part of our Molsom family.
Andy Molsom, business owner and Optician added “I am really happy the team have had their hard work recognised. We treat each patient as an individual providing the best optical solution we can, tailored to that patient’s needs. The staff go above and beyond because they genuinely care about our patients. Our Quality Family Eyecare motto stems from our principles as a team, so we are elated to be presented with this fantastic award!”
Dispensing Manager Andrew Copley added “Seeing the way the team relates to all our patients, making no distinction between how they treat someone wanting their glasses cleaned and someone who may want multiple pairs of new glasses, makes me incredibly proud of them all. This award is a testament to everyone’s desire to put a smile on everyone’s face who visits our practice."
We are always working on moving forward and making our patients’ experience with us a happy one. At the minute we are planning a refit or possible relocation of the practice within Spalding, should the right opportunity present itself. Being able to provide tea and coffee facilities and have more room in general for all of the services provided would be fantastic. So watch this space in 2020.
We are happy to take new patients of all ages private or NHS and the Platinum Eyecare Plan is open to patients new, existing or returning. Members will also gain the benefits from day one and enjoy exclusive discounts and offers during their membership. Ultimately the plan is to provide peace of mind.
