Our new way of working
We are slowly finding our new way of working and welcoming back our wonderful team.
For the foreseeable future we will be operating with a locked door policy and by appointment only and appreciate our customers support with this change.
As a smaller practice we are taking measures to ensure our customer and staff levels are such that we can observe social distancing where we can and control the flow in the practice without upsetting our customers experience.
We would ask that all of our customers call and book their appointment to give us the opportunity to help, whether this is for adjustments, payments, collections or examinations.
When booking your appointment it is important to let us know if you will need someone with you so that we can accommodate you both. We also ask that if you have any of the current COVID 19 symptoms that you call to rearrange your appointment rather than attending. We will be wearing face coverings and will ask you to do the same, providing a complimentary one if required.
Our Optometrists Mr Ian Price and Mr Andrew Molsom would both recommend that all customers wanting the best for their eyes would book our advanced examination. This can be a private test (£75 to pay) with NHS funding (£53.69 to pay) or if you are a Platinum Member this is your inclusive examination (£0 to pay).
We are open for our full opening hours again now Monday - Saturday 9am -5pm (Wednesday morning 10am opening).
We would ask that when you book an appointment you come at the time specified to avoid us having to ask you to wait (again due to number restrictions).
We are happy to help via telephone or email. If you feel you are unsure about whether you need an examination our team will help so please call for advice 01775 713366 or email email@example.com
Update 2nd July 2020
We are now opening up for longer days to allow us to help as many customers as we can without compromising our safety measures.
We are, as the advice below explains, still offering advanced examinations only.
If you require a contact lens check or a child appointment please call the team on 01775 713366 to discuss your needs.
We still have our locked door policy and would ask that you call us to book an appointment where you need to visit the practice. This helps us to effectively manage the amount of people visiting but we can also track who enters the practice on a daily basis to help with track and trace.
Update 18th June 2020
Thank you so much to all our lovely customers who are being very understanding while we work on a new normal for Molsom & Associates.
We are currently working on a phased return to seeing our customers over the next few weeks.
If you feel you need to talk to us please call the team on 01775 713366 so that we can discuss your needs and help. We are triaging our customers on a needs basis so please be patient and understanding.
We are slowly starting to book our most urgent customers in now, however please be aware for both your safety and ours we will only be performing advanced eye examinations. This is our eye exam which includes 3D scans and we feel this is the only way we can see customers and give them the best recommendations we can in the current climate.
For our Platinum members this examination is included in your plan, private paying customers will pay £75 ( although you are welcome to join the Platinum membership plan), NHS customers will get their £21.31 funding deducted from the £75 cost and pay £53.69, however again you are welcome to join the Platinum membership.
If you would like a straight forward NHS funded sight test please call the practice to join our waiting list and we will see you as soon as we can.
We have special measures in place for both children and contact lens wears and will discuss this on an individual basis if you would like to contact the team.
Our staff will slowly be coming back to the practice and as we get used to a new way of working we appreciate your patience as things will be very different for us all.
What we are doing
- We have updated our customer chairs where possible to have wipe down ones instead of fabric.
- We are installing cleanable flooring in our OCT room and both Testing rooms.
- We are supplying complimentary hand sanitiser and face coverings within the practice for our customers.
- Our staff will wear PPE when social distancing can not be observed
- We are allowing more time for each appointment to allow a full clean down after each customer
- We are still operating with a locked door policy and would ask that all customers phone for an appointment slot to avoid unnecessary ques and to help us manage how many people are in the practice
- We have changed some of our processes to help your journey with us to be as stress free as possible
Please call our team if we can help answer any of your questions or if you would like more information on our Platinum membership plan.
Update 14th April 2020
Firstly we hope you are all staying safe and well during these difficult times.
We just wanted to touch base and contact you to let you know we are still here for you.
We are open Monday to Friday 9am until 12pm but with a closed door policy for everyone's safety. We are available to contact by telephone 01775 713366 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for any optical help or advice you may need.
Following Government guidelines our opening times are for essential repairs and essential / emergency eye care only, if you are unsure please contact us for further clarification. Our staff have been helping key workers with emergency repairs, posting and completing doorstep deliveries of contact lenses, glasses and eye treatments and helping with enquiries during these difficult times.
All of our routine sight tests have been cancelled for the next few weeks, and all patients affected have been contacted. Please rest assured once we are able to open again safely we will be contacting everyone to re book appointments.
Obviously we are working on a day to day basis and following advice to keep everyone safe and will let you know once normal service resumes again. In the mean time please do not hesitate to contact us if you feel we can help.
Warmest wishes to you and your loved ones
Monday 23rd March 2020
As of Monday 23rd March 2020 we have taken the decision to keep our patients, staff and their families as safe as possible by not seeing routine NHS appointments.
We will be supporting our loyal patients and will be available between 9am and 1 pm Monday to Friday. This will be for emergencies only and we will triage each call and help where we can.
For everyone's safety we have a locked door policy and will only be allowing people into the practice if invited after speaking with the team. If this is the case we would ask that you please observe the social distancing and use the hand sanitiser provided.
If you need items we can post these to you with payment being taken over the phone. We will do our best to support you in these difficult times. If you are a key worker and have issues please call us.
